Brooklyn FC will start the year off with some Italian flair.
The club announced on Monday via X that head coach Jessica Silva and her squad will travel to Italy later this month to play a slate of tune-up matches.

“We’re very excited to do a part of our preseason in Italy. I want to thank the Club for giving us this opportunity. We are grateful that our owners also own Campobasso and look forward to being immersed in their very successful project,” Silva told Hudson River Blue. “It will allow our team to dial into our culture and playing philosophy and solidify already great existing relationships. I also firmly believe that the cultural exchange will enrich us as a team and as individuals. Football (soccer) is the world’s sport, and we can live and learn something different everywhere it’s played.”
This adventure comes after an extremely impressive opening to their inaugural USL Super League season. BKFC currently sit atop the table with a six-point lead over second-place Dallas Trinity FC after winning their last five matches.
While the actual schedule of Italian fixtures might be still up in the air, Brooklyn FC Sporting Director Kevin Tenjo is excited at the prospect of what this trip will provide for the club from a global standpoint.
“This trip to Italy is an excellent opportunity for us to highlight Brooklyn FC’s global presence while giving our team valuable international experience.
It supports recruitment efforts, strengthens our preparation, and builds connections that align with our vision for growth on and off the field,” Tenjo said.
BKFC will resume USL Super League action when they travel to Florida to face Tampa Bay Sun FC in Riverfront Stadium on February 22.
