The NWSL and Roku have announced an expanded partnership that puts a chunk of the league’s Sunday Night schedule on The Roku Channel for free, starting August 30 and running through an expanded 25-match slate in 2027.
The Roku Sports Channel will exclusively stream eight Sunday Night matches for the remainder of the 2026 season, launching with Seattle Reign FC against the Houston Dash on August 30. The 2026 run continues through October 25, capping off with San Diego Wave FC hosting Boston Legacy FC, before Roku takes on a full weekly Sunday Night slate throughout the 2027 season.
Access requires no subscription. The Roku Channel is available on Roku devices, TheRokuChannel.com, iOS and Android apps, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TVs and other Android TV OS devices – a low bar for entry that’s the whole point of the deal.
What This Doesn’t Touch
This arrangement sits alongside the NWSL’s existing broadcast partners rather than replacing them. CBS Sports, ESPN, Amazon Prime Video and Scripps Sports remain part of the league’s rights portfolio, and the Roku package doesn’t disturb those relationships. Roku Head of Sports Joe Franzetta framed the move as part of a broader push into women’s sports ahead of what he called a watershed year for the sport, pointing to the reach it gives NWSL matches across more than half of U.S. streaming households.
